[Sailor Moon] 5 ficlets
Oct. 19th, 2010 07:48 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
This is me catching up with posting all of the short little fics I've written for
sailormoonland challenges. I'll post most of them in this entry, but three are going to be posted in their own separate entries as one is a longer story, another placed in the challenge it was written for, and the third one is actually a poem. Also, one challenge response will not be posted here because I hate what I wrote for it and actually really disliked that particular challenge. It really should go without saying that these are pretty much un-betaed other than doing spell check in Word as most were written pretty quickly.
So, uh sorry for all the spam from this journal - I had a significant backlog of fic and prompt tables I had forgotten to post.
Title: I'm Sorry
Author:
birgitriddle
Fandom: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon
Character(s): Hotaru Tomoe
Rating: PG
Word Count: 248
Summary: Hotaru Tomoe from the point of view of a fellow classmate and why the classmate feels the need to keep distant from Hotaru. Inspired by a flashback from episode 115 of the Sailor Moon anime.
Author's Notes: Written for a weekly
sailormoonland writing challenge. The challenge was to write about who was the sailor soldiers' best friends before they awoke to their nature as a Sailor Soldier and the word limit was 100 - 500 words.
Disclaimer: The characters in this story are not my creations nor do I own them. They were created and belong to Naoko Takeuchi.
I can't look at her the same way I used to. Hotaru-san that is. We all assumed that she was just a nice quiet girl who seemed to be a nice person to know. Plus she was the founder's daughter and my parents, at least, told me it was a good idea to get to know her when I told them she was in my class.
I wish I never listened to their advice, but I did and I got to know her and became her friend. She wasn't a particularly close friend, but I'm not sure if she had it in her to be more than that in the first place. However, she was always willing to listen to someone instead of talking at them and I guess that made her better than some of my other friends. But she was a bit unsettling. She always wore her winter uniform, even in the summer and she just was…weird. There was just no other way to put it.
Then yesterday happened.
Hotaru-san just…turned cold and scary when Ichiro-kun asked to borrow one of her erasers that afternoon. Then she did something weird…I'm not sure what she did, but Ichiro-kun ended up severely hurt. Even his arm was broken!
Yet, this morning, when Hotaru-san came into the classroom…she asked what had happened to him as if she didn't even remember that it was her that hurt him!
I'm sorry, Hotaru-san, but I don't think we can be friends anymore.

Title: Late
Author:

Fandom: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon
Character(s): Minako Aino, Artemis
Rating: G
Word Count: 227
Summary: Artemis is late in coming home and Minako is worried.
Author's Notes: Written for a weekly
sailormoonland writing challenge. The challenge was to write a ficlet that was written from the point of view of at least two characters and the word limit was 100 - 500 words.
Disclaimer: The characters in this story are not my creations nor do I own them. They were created and belong to Naoko Takeuchi.
Minako looked at her watch waiting for him to arrive. He had promised to be back home by a certain time and now that that time had passed, Minako was worried. He usually never was this late, though it wasn't completely unknown for it to happen.
----
He ran as fast as he can. He lost track of the time because he was distracted by some lady who had decided to offer him food because he was so cute. Always hungry, he couldn't resist her offer and forgot he promised to meet Minako after she returned from school. Now afraid that she would do something desperate (after all, it was Minako), he kept running, hoping he would be fast enough to catch her before she went looking for him.
----
She sighed and tapped her foot.
"I bet he got lost while investigating. I wouldn't be surprised," said Minako with another sigh. She started to leave the house and then saw him screeching to a halt outside.
----
"Minako!" he yelled when he saw her. He ran up to her and rubbed up against her leg while she petted him on the head. He may be a talking cat, but he was still a cat and so enjoyed what many other cats did. After all, that woman wouldn't have given him food if he wasn't a cat.

Title: Running
Author:
birgitriddle
Fandom: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon
Character(s): Haruka Tenoh
Rating: G
Word Count: 189
Summary: Haruka Tenoh runs because she has to.
Author's Notes: Written for a weekly
sailormoonland writing challenge. The challenge was to write a story in which the Sailor Soldiers were just normal girls with no magic powers whatsoever nor any form of destiny. The word limit was 100 - 500 words.
Disclaimer: The characters in this story are not my creations nor do I own them. They were created and belong to Naoko Takeuchi.
Run, run like the wind, her mind has always told her, as if there was something that she needed to escape from. She never knew what exactly was chasing her, but she listened to herself anyway and ran. Ran faster than anyone on the track and drove faster than anyone else on the roads. She had become so used to it that she barely noticed that her inner voice stopped telling her to run.
One day she stopped and looked at the sky over the ocean, wondering why the sudden need to keep on running wasn't so great anymore. She knew she still loved the wind and the speed, but the fear of something catching up to her was no longer there. She had outrun it and she wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not.
Sighing and sitting down on a bench, Haruka grabbed her water bottle and drank from it. When she lowered her bottle, in front of her, she saw the most lovely woman.
The woman smiled and said, "You're Tenoh Haruka-san, right? I'm Kaioh Michiru." Then she offered her hand out to Haruka.

Title: Late Again
Author:
birgitriddle
Fandom: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon
Character(s): Usagi Tsukino
Rating: G
Word Count: 154
Summary: Usagi is late to a meeting with Ami and Rei. While running to meet them, she thinks about the two other Sailor Soldiers. Takes place before Sailor Jupiter appears in the first season.
Author's Notes: Written for a weekly
sailormoonland writing challenge. The challenge was to write a ficlet about three of the Sailor Soldiers using a point of view other than third person. The word limit was 100 - 300 words.
Disclaimer: The characters in this story are not my creations nor do I own them. They were created and belong to Naoko Takeuchi.
I'm running toward the shrine, hoping that I'm not late. I'm probably late, but maybe Rei won't yell at me this time. After all, I only just forgot my watch at home and maybe got distracted by the cute guy at the arcade that had a clock…but never mind, Rei will accept my excuse…maybe. I know that Ami won't throw a fit like Rei does. Ami's a very quiet and peaceful girl. I wonder how she manages to put up with both Rei and I. After all, I'm not all that smart and she's brilliant and I wouldn't understand why she would hang out with me. Also, I'm still not sure why Rei puts up with me either, especially since we argue all the time. But I still think both of them are more wonderful people than I.
Oh, I'm here at the shrine. Time to brace myself for another reaming out by Rei.

Title: The Motorcycle
Author:
birgitriddle
Fandom: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon
Character(s): Haruka Tenoh
Rating: G
Word Count: 126
Summary: Haruka's first time riding a motorcycle.
Author's Notes: Written for a weekly
sailormoonland writing challenge. The challenge was to write about the first time one of the characters experienced something. The word limit was 100 - 300 words.
Disclaimer: The characters in this story are not my creations nor do I own them. They were created and belong to Naoko Takeuchi.
The wind rushed through her hair and it was the most exhilarating thing she'd ever experienced up to that point in her life. Running was the only thing that previously even came close to this experience and even that was miles away from the adrenaline and freedom that riding her first motorcycle gave her. Saving up for that used, beaten up motorcycle and its parts was the best decision she ever made.
She always wanted to be like the wind and she finally found it in this piece of machinery that she had spent hours working on, getting it into working condition. Haruka's dreams of the wind had come true and it now seemed to her that running was only a shadow of the same dream.
